Believers In The Power of Metal

It would appear that many of the usual guests are not making the trip, but since I call Austin home, I want to find out the skinny on what is happening and who is going to be in town during the conference...

It would seem that it is off in the distance, Music Conference March 18th - 22nd, but we are about a month away, and the lists are already going up:

WhiteChapel
Devil Wears Prada
Red Fang
Valient Thorr
Kylesa
Tombs
Skeletonwitch
Bring Me the Horizon
Cancer Bats
Pelican
Dillinger Escape Plan
A Day To Remember

just to name a few, but usually for the metal crowd daytime parties kill...if you are here in town, know of a show, party or otherwise kick ass event, why not post the S.O.B. right here....I willl throw in any updates I get from the streets of Austin too...

There might be less of a posse this year, but it's still a posse. Loks like a lot of good metal as well.

Southern Lord Showcase Friday Nite: Opened by the Black Flag-a-riffic It's Casual but also including the likes of Wino and Wolves in the Throne Room.

Incidentally, Until The Light Takes Us was killer. It's old school as shit focusing on Dark Throne and Burzum for the most part -- wait til you see the part where Varg gets really excited about talked about his hatred for McDonalds (no shit!) and The Jews! Amazing! Thank God there's no Arthur Treecher's in Oslo!
