Believers In The Power of Metal

So I was exploring the furthest reaches of the inter-web, and stumbled upon a review of " the red album" by Baroness, It said nothing but good things so I ordered it, and very quickly fell in love with it. I got to thinking If I could only have 5 albums/bands to listen to forever, or must have albums what would they be.

in no particular order

1) Agalloch (the mantle)
2) Baroness (the red album)
3) Old In Flames ( although "a sense of purpose" is great)
4) Machinehead ( The Blackening) ( I know, I know)
5) Devin Townsend ( Metal genius, and canadian to boot)

This is a great way to discover new bands and share the belief in metal

James has a studio in florida and is actually producing my band's (abigail williams) album right now. I know he has a lot of of other recording projects going on right now (drawing a blank on the specifics since i just woke up), and I will be working with him again this summer on another full length for a new soon to be announced band.

Very excited to hear the record! sounds like he is up to good things as always, glad to hear it. As a guitarist, James was a huge influence and icon to me coming up in the world.

C'mon guys, you took two stabs at Morbid Angel and still didn't get the album! Altars of Madness!!!

Oh yeah, we can't forget about Cynic's "Focus" either. That's something every metal fan needs to hear
