We're back! Everyone who went to NEMHF - what did you think? Did you like the Summit? What would have made it better? Any great anecdotes? What was the best band all weekend? Upload any photos you took to BITPOM and share with the world!
You guys made the first ever public Metal Summit a huge success.
Thanks to Leah from Crimson Management, Scott and Sylvia from Mass Concerts as if it wasn't for them, we wouldn't have had the event.
Thanks to everyone at The Syn who helped set up and run www.bitpom.com and the Metal Summit. It took 7 of us to make it work.
Big thanks to all of our panelist who help us to discuss topics like 360 deals, local bands getting on national shows, getting a label or manager to take a look at your band, the importance of the internet, how the internet has made bands lazy, the importance of street promotion, deluxe and special packaging, FM and online radio, illegal downloads and all kinds of other great topics.
It was nice to have a room full of people with the goal in mind of improving the world for the business of metal and hardcore. I was really proud of everyone who participated.
Lastly, I would like to thank all the sponsors who gave us so many great prizes to give away.
If that wasn't enough, the Post Metal Summit party hosted by The Syndicate and sponsored by Spinefarm was a blast. We got to hear some new music, some old music and have a couple of friendly drinks together.
NEMHF 10 was one of the best I have seen and I have been to 9 of them. Highlights included Children of Bodom, Job For A Cowboy, In Flames, Megadeth, The End, Municipal Waste, Shadows Fall, Arsis, Soilent Green, Vital Remains, The Acacia Strain and Dimmu Borgir. I wasn’t able to attend Sunday but had a great time the 2 days I was there.
From great bands, to good hangs, to an informative Metal Summit, to a great pre-party, to late night antics, early morning hangovers and late afternoon hang over cures; it was great to see all of you. I wouldn't give up the Metal Fest reunion for anything.
Here are some photos from 2 days of "feeling the steal".
I had a great time being on the fan panel. I would also like to thak everyone who made it possible and I really hope we have another one next year. I know I will deffinately be here for it! \,,/
